Directorate of Mining with Commissioner of Mines at Svalbard (DMF) points out that investigation reports, measurement data and samples should be submitted to DMF no later than 6 months after the exploration permit has ceased.

Directorate of Mining with Commissioner of Mines at Svalbard (DMF) points out that investigation reports, measurement data and samples should be submitted to DMF no later than 6 months after the exploration permit has ceased, cf. § 1-4 of the Regulations of the Minerals Act.

Exploration report and measurement data

DMF require digital delivery of exploration reports, maps and geophysical measurements. Companies and persons registered in Norway can submit via the digital portal Min side.

The report must be sufficiently detailed to allow the Directorate of Mining to undertake an independent assessment of the material. For more guidance to reporting, see: https://www.dirmin.no/rapport-undersokelser (only in Norwegian).

Sample material

DMF can demand that the exploring party delivers a representative selection of drill core samples and sample materials to NGU’s store of drill cores. The exploring party should provide a suggestion.

All costs related to the final reporting, included the delivery of sample material, shall be covered by the exploring party.
